Journey to Bengaluru airport to get electrifying soon

Those heading to the airport can expect an electric train in the near future. The South Western Railways (SWR) have taken up an electrification project which would facilitate the introduction of an electric train to the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) halt station.

As of now, the track from Bengaluru City to Yelahanka and Yeshwantpur-Yelahanka is electrified, but the trains between Yelahanka and KIA halt station are diesel locomotives.
