K’taka Lifts Weekend Curfew;night Curbs To Stay Till Jan 29

Bowing to pressure from various quarters, the Karnataka government on Friday lifted the weekend curfew with immediate effect but continued with the night curfew from 10pm to 5am till January 29 across the state.
The weekend curfew from Friday 10pm to Monday 5am had been imposed on January 5 following a spike in Covid-19 cases. Although the state continues to see a rising number of cases and nearing its peak, the government withdrew the weekend curfew since the number of patients hospitalised is not alarming.
