Kedarnath, higher reaches get season’s first spell of snowfall

Kedarnath and its surrounding hills in Rudraprayag district received the season's first spell of snowfall, while several other places in the Garhwal Himalayas witnessed light rain on Friday morning. According to the regional meteorological centre, high-altitude places -- mainly situated above 3,000 metres height -- in Chamoli, Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag districts, received snowfall, causing the temperatures to drop.
