Maharashtra and Delhi lead with highest number of EV charging stations in India

12,146 public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations are operational across the country, Minister of State for Heavy Industries, Krishan Pal Gurjar informed the Lok Sabha. Maharashtra has 3079 operational stations, Delhi has 1886 stations, and Karnataka has 1041 stations. Heavy Industries Ministry has sanctioned Rs 800 crore as capital subsidy to the three public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) for setting up 7,432 electric vehicle charging stations.
