Markets drift higher post opening bell; Nifty crosses 17,700 level

The benchmark indices witnessed a decent rally during early morning trade, buoyed by oil & gas and bank scrips. The Nifty reclaimed its 17,700 level, which it lost since November 2021.
At 9:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, jumped 267.64 points or 0.45% at 59,450.86. The Nifty 50 index surged 77.35 points or 0.44% at 17,703.05.
