MDR E. coli found in poultry farm soil and water, but meat safe in Telangana: Study

Unhygienic practices have resulted in the presence of multi-drug resistant (MDR) E. coli in soil and water samples of poultry farms in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, research by city-based ICAR-National Research Centre on Meat has revealed. NRCM director Dr S B Barbuddhe said, "None of the chicken samples tested positive for MDR E. coli. It was found only in the environmental samples at the poultry farms."
