A cheetah was released into Kuno National Park as part of India’s Project Cheetah, on September 17, 2022. Press Information Bureau Kickstarting India’s ambitious cheetah introduction program, eight African cheetahs from Namibia reached Madhya Pradesh on September 17.
An important question hangs in the air now: in exchange for the cheetahs, did Namibia ask India to give up its opposition to the international trade in ivory?
