Not considering tax waivers for Tesla, says Indian Revenue Department

American EV maker Tesla has shown its interest in entering the Indian market on multiple occasions. Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, has previously asked the Indian government for tax waivers on the import duties of Tesla cars, so that the carmaker can test the demand in our market before starting manufacturing. As per a new report, the Revenue Secretary — Sanjay Malhotra, has stated that import duty waivers for Tesla are not actively being considered by the Department of Revenue.
