Only 1,363 properties in Nagpur harvest rainwater to boost groundwater

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is promoting rainwater harvesting (RWH) by including it in its environment-friendly initiatives under which it offers a 5% rebate in property tax to citizens who implement such measures. However, out of 7.05 lakh properties in the city, only 5,440 property owners or just 0.77% have implemented eco-friendly measures like RWH, solar energy use, wastewater recycling and reuse, and vermicomposting.
