Pakistan is in the middle of an economic crisis and has become a net importer of oil and gas and other essentials. The energy economy was once built in the model of the US where oil was cheap and the rich moved around in costly imported cars. Obviously, this was not sustainable.

Pakistan imports wheat, pulses, sugar etc. The global crisis, particularly after the Ukraine conflict, has set the food prices to the roof. More than prices, availability is a bigger concern.
