Prachanda wins vote of trust with overwhelming support

Nepal's new Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal aka Prachanda, won the vote of trust on Tuesday, receiving 268 votes in the 275-member Parliament. This is the first time in the history of Nepal’s Parliament that a Prime Minister received such overwhelming support from different political parties. Even Nepali Congress, the single-largest party in the Parliament which was declared to sit on the opposition bench, also supported Prachanda.
