The market for entry-level hatchbacks in India has shrunk significantly over the past few years due to economic distress in the ‘low-cost vehicle’ buying segment amid rising car prices.
At the same time, the market share of higher-priced cars continues to rise on the back of “resilient incomes of affluent buyers” and lower sensitivity to price increases.
