Punjab CM writes to Election Commission, demands polling be postponed

Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has urged the Election Commission of India to postpone the February 14 assembly polls by six days in view of Guru Ravidas Jayanti.
Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi will defend their existing seats of Amritsar (East) and Chamkaur Sahib respectively as Congress on Saturday announced its first list of 86 candidates for the upcoming Punjab polls on February 14.
