Remdesivir shortage baffles Bengaluru, prices skyrocket

One can get a Remdesivir injection for Rs 5400 at most. However, a Bidar family, according to reports, had to pay a whopping Rs 40,000 for one injection. This is because the black marketing of the drug has now started amid the shortage in the city.
The State Government on Wednesday set up a dedicated cell for Remdesivir which will be headed by the Deputy Drugs Controller. This cell will be responsible for coordinating with hospitals and preventing black marketing.
