Sensex, Nifty snap 5-day losing streak

Equity indices snapped a five-day winning run and ended with steep losses on Tuesday. The Nifty closed below the 16,650 level after hitting a day's high of 16,927.75 in morning trade.
Barring auto and FMCG stocks, all sectoral indices on the NSE ended in the red. Domestic sentiment was negative amid anticipation of the first U. S. interest rate hike in three years, which could come this week.
