Indian markets surged on Monday, largely led by gains in banks and financials.
The Sensex surged 929.40 points or 1.6% to end the day at 59,183.22, while Nifty jumped 271.70 points to 17,625.70. Nifty Bank rose 940.20 points or 2.65% at 36,421.90. All sectoral indices, barring pharma, closed higher, with banks, financials, metals, IT, and auto leading the rally.
