Sensex extends fall, down 1100 pts

Amid weak global sentiment due to no headways in Russia-Ukraine conflict, the domestic benchmark indices extended opening losses in morning deals. The BSE Sensex was over 1,000 points lower around 54,000 levels, while the NSE Nifty50 was around 350 points down to 16,100 levels.

Sectorally, all indices were holding steep losses with Nifty Auto extending its cuts, down up to 3 per cent. Nifty Realty, too, was leading losses, lower by 2.5 per cent.
