The fate of the Titan and the Titanic are intertwined. Both now sitting on a seabed in a remote corner of the Atlantic Ocean -- 111 years and 490 metres apart. The last moments of both the crafts were different but there were some similarities between them. The Titan, launched on June 18 and was confirmed to have imploded hours after its descent, was a deep-sea submersible operated by OceanGate. It was on an expedition to the Titanic shipwreck.
