Serum Institute to sell Covishield vaccine at Rs 200, Rs 1000 in private market, says Adar Poonawalla

Oxford Covid-19 vaccine Covishield, manufactured by the Serum Institute of India, will be sold to the Indian government at Rs 200 per dose, SII head Adar Poonawalla has said. For private buyers, Covishield will be sold to at a higher price of Rs 1,000 per dose.

Adar Poonawalla said vaccines could be delivered to Indian states where they were needed within seven to 10 days of the company finalising a deal with the Indian government.
