Shopify lays off 1,000 employees a day before quarterly results

Shopify Inc, the NYSE-listed e-commerce company, has laid off 1,000 employees or 10% of its global workforce, The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing an internal memo.
Shopify joins the list of firms that have either laid off their employees amid the global meltdown, such as Microsoft, or those that have slowed down hiring, such as Google and Apple.
