SP-Congress likely to contest Lok Sabha elections individually

In what could prove to be a major setback to I.N.D.I.A bloc ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Congress and the Samajwadi Party were unable to strike a seat-sharing deal. Reportedly, Congress was seeking the Ballia seat (considered a Samajwadi Party stronghold) for itself and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav refused to give up the Moradabad, Ballia, and Bijnor seats to the Congress. Samajwadi Party and Congress likely to contest polls individually.
