Stalin distributes transponders made by ISRO to fishing trawlers

Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated the distribution of transponders to fishing trawlers in the state. Under the Blue Revolution scheme, all 4,997 fishing trawlers will be fitted with them with the help of Rs 18 Cr grant. Ten fishermen from Chennai, Nagapattinam, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari districts received the transponders on Friday. ISRO has developed these upgraded transponders which will enable two-way communication between land and boats.
