Keir Starmer is facing mounting pressure to change his stance on the Israel-Hamas war as the mayors of London and Greater Manchester broke ranks to call for a ceasefire. In a blow to Sir Keir’s authority, Sadiq Khan, Andy Burnham and Anas Sarwar, the party’s leader in Scotland, became the most senior Labour politicians yet to rebel against their leader’s position on Gaza. Reportedly, more than half of the parliamentary party supported the idea.
