Strict enforcement of traffic laws brings down road mishaps

The strict enforcement of helmets and safety belts in the last year has turned the streets of the capital and the state as a whole safer for driving as records show there has been a noticeable 6% drop in the number of accidents and 1% in fatalities in Assam. A drop of over 8% was recorded because of strict adherence to the use of safety belts and helmets. There is a 19% decline in accident cases and over 6% drop in fatalities in Guwahati.
