Surat recorded highest sales of electric vehicle in 2022 at 21,872 units

In the first 10 days of this month, the state registered sales of 2,168 EVs with two-wheelers accounting for 60 per cent of the share. This is also way more than the country's EV sales growth of 211 per cent. The positive consumer sentiment also reflects the improving road infrastructure and a maturing EV ecosystem aided by the government's policy. Surat, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Rajkot accounted for sales of 45,764 units against the overall sales of 68,999 units.
