Surrendered Naga National Council militant shot dead in Cachar along Assam-Manipur border

A surrendered Naga National Council insurgent was shot dead by unidentified assailants at Chamtilla village along the Assam-Manipur border in Cachar district on Tuesday.

Villagers said the armed assailants came from Manipur’s side and dragged surrendered NNC rebel David Rongmai, 37, out of his house and shot him dead on the spot before fleeing to the neighboring state.
