Tamil Nadu: As cases surge, COVID-19 vaccination drive picks up pace; record 2,17,666 inoculated ✭

Tamil Nadu has been witnessing an unprecedented rise in cases as 7,987 people tested positive. At least 58,097 active cases are present in the state of Chennai. Tamil Nadu witnessed record-high vaccinations on Thursday as 2,17,666 people took the jabs against COVID-19.

In this, out of the aforementioned data, 85,111 people were above 60 years of age. 1,15,970 people above 45 years with co-morbidities were administered the vaccines. Till now, 43,90,629 people have taken part in the vaccination drive in the state.
