Roast chana dal, coriander seeds, pepper, dried red chilli and a few curry leaves in some oil. Turn off the flame and add coconut. Once it cools down completely, blend to a smooth paste. Add rice and toor dal in a pressure cooker with turmeric, water, and oil. Saute with mustard seeds, dried red chilli, hing, and curry leaves. Add shallots, potato, carrot, drumsticks, beans, tomato, turmeric, salt and water. Once well cooked, add tamarind extract and boil.
