The UN World Tourism Organisation defines sustainable tourism as an approach that considers the economic, social and environmental impacts of tourism activities while also addressing needs of visitors, travel and tourism industry, environment and host communities. The National Strategy for Sustainable Tourism aims to mainstream sustainability in the tourism sector and ensure more resilient, inclusive, carbon-neutral and resource-efficient tourism.
