The mercury has alarmingly shot up in parts of Europe that are reeling under a severe heatwave due to wildfires raging across Portugal, Spain, France, Greece and Croatia. Amid this, the UK has been experiencing scorching temperatures topping 40 degrees Celcius. 

According to posts shared by the official Twitter handle of National Railways, photos of molten train signaling equipment gave a clear depiction of the dire condition.
