Transgender quota not feasible: State Government

The state government has told the Orissa high court that it is not feasible to provide reservation for the third gender in the urban local body elections.
In response to a writ petition filed in the HC by a leader of the transgender community and social activist Meera Parida seeking direction to the housing and urban development department to provide 2% reservation for the third gender in ULB elections, the state government filed an affidavit on Wednesday.
