Rajasthan Royals (RR) beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 20 runs to start their IPL 2023 campaign with a win. Set a target of 194, LSG finished their innings on 173 for 6 despite half-centuries from KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran. LSG were off to a poor start with Quinton de Kock, and Devdutt Padikkal dismissed by Trent Boult, Ayush Badoni dismissed by Nandre Burger and Deepak Hooda by Yuzvendra Chahal leaving LSG reeling at 60 for 4.
