UK to build six nuclear power plants by 2050

An energy security strategy to be unveiled on Thursday is expected to commit the government to support the construction of at least two new large nuclear power plants by 2030, in addition to small modular reactors.

A government informant suggested that “by the end of this decade, nuclear power will definitely feature prominently in the British energy mix.”
