United to install Panasonic inflight entertainment system

United Airlines will be the first U.S. carrier to utilize Panasonic Avionics' Astrova inflight entertainment system. The system will be installed on seatback screens of select new United Boeing 787 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft beginning in 2025. The Astrova technology will have a sharper image and will deliver cinema-grade colors. The company also said that its patented removable peripheral bar solution will enable United to upgrade the system easily without pricey hardware changes.
