Hiraman, the character in Amarkatha Shilpi Phanishwarnath Renu's novel 'Mare Gaye Gulfam', had taken three oaths. The electoral experience forced writer Renu to take an oath in real life. He called it the fourth oath. His son, DP Rai, says that in 1972, his father was deeply hurt by his bitter experience in the assembly election from Forbesganj in Araria district in Bihar. Even the one in whom he had a lot of trust also betrayed him.
