The vessel identified as M/V Gibraltar Eagle was hit by a ballistic missile fired by the Houthis, according to the United States military command for the Middle East. British maritime security firm Ambrey confirmed the vessel struck by a missile off the south coast of Yemen was a US-owned cargo ship. The attack comes after US-UK airstrikes targeted Houthi regions in Yemen. Since the Israel-Hamas war, Houthis have stepped up their Red Sea attacks.
