Varsity chancellor moves Supreme Court for uniform civil code

A plea has been moved in the Supreme Court seeking directions to the Centre to frame a uniform civil code within three months.

Firoz Bakht Ahmed, Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, has moved a PIL saying that an Indian Civil Code for all citizens is essential to promote fraternity, unity and national integration.
