Video of newborn’s taped mouth viral, but probe panel finds no CCTV proof

Six months after a mother raised a midnight protest against a nurse for allegedly taping her newborn son’s mouth in a civic maternity home’s NICU in Bhandup, an inquiry committee has said it found no “fault” in the working of the NICU or the staff. The committee said it had reviewed CCTV footage and found no evidence of adhesive tape put across the infant’s mouth. The clean chit has upset the child’s grandmother as well as former corporator Jagruti Patil.
