What’s next for the metaverse?

There has been much hype about metaverse in the last few years. So much so that metaverse technologies featured in Gartner’s 2022 Hype Cycle. Admittedly, the metaverse is still at a nascent stage. Even with the ‘conditions apply’ caveat in its Hype Cycle, Gartner acknowledges that metaverse technologies provide innovative opportunities for businesses. According to the analyst, at least 25 per cent of people are predicted to spend at least an hour daily in a metaverse for either entertainment or work.
