WHO urges eligible people to make regular, voluntary blood donations

On the eve of World Blood Donor Day, the WHO on June 13 urged eligible people in countries in its South-East Asia Region and across the world to join the effort to save lives, improve health and advance health equity by making regular, voluntary, unpaid blood donations.
Donating blood regularly is beneficial to prevent and reduce heart attacks and liver ailment. The risk of heart and liver related problem is caused by the iron overload in the body.
