60 years ago, physicist Enrico Fermi asked, “Where is everybody?” The universe is vast and ever-expanding, making it nearly impossible for alien civilisations to travel far enough to reach us or vice versa. Alien life may thrive in hidden oceans beneath frozen planets, too deep to detect and unaware of the sky above them. Aliens on massive planets might struggle to overcome gravity, making space exploration nearly impossible for them to reach us.
