Young adults' sleep woes tied to muscle dysmorphia, study finds

Published in the Sleep Health journal, the research involved more than 900 adolescents and young adults. During two weeks, individuals with greater muscle dysmorphia symptoms reported experiencing reduced sleep duration and increased difficulty falling or staying asleep. Poor sleep may worsen functional and social impairment, increase suicidal thoughts, and exacerbate negative mental health symptoms.
